Interested in becoming a PFIC member?
To become a member of PFIC, an organisation or individual must commit to a stringent set of requirements tailored to their position within the industry.
PFIC member signatories will be actively and preferentially promoted because of their adoption of industry recognised best practice for Permanent Formwork related products and services. PFIC members websites will be linked to the appropriate section of PFIC website.

PFIC TRAINING AND INSTALLATION OF MANDATORY CODE
Permanent Formwork Supplier Members must:
- Provide formal, detailed off-site training in all aspects of installation of their permanent formwork system
- Such training must meet the syllabus requirements of PFIC
- All trainers must hold a formal qualification in training (Cert. IV or similar)
- Allow a PFIC nominated representative to audit training to confirm compliance and adequacy to PFIC requirements on an annual basis
- Provide readily accessible and detailed documentation about the installation of their permanent formwork system
- Employ a minimum of one site inspection officer per 200,000 m2 of formwork sold to:
– Provide on-site training on an as needed basis
– Provide on-site advice as needed
– Assess system installations at various stages in a construction project
– Provide documented reports on findings of each assessment
– Undertake annual detailed audits of the installation practices and processes of PFIC member installers
Permanent Formwork Installer Members must:
- Have a building, carpentry or form working license or similar
- Ensure any employee responsible for supervising the installation of formwork, placement of steel reinforcement and placement of concrete have attended off-site training provided by a supplier of permanent formwork
- Ensure that at least 33% of each installation crew (in addition to the supervisor) has attended off-site training provided by a permanent formwork supplier
- Ensure all projects have detailed site-specific ITP’s that are followed and are fully documented
- Ensure that everyone on the installation crew has ready access the formwork supplier’s installation manual
- Ensure that any split package project has one person responsible to oversee the whole process. Such person is accountable for full compliance with the site-specific ITP.
- Allow permanent formwork supplier site inspection officer to inspect installation at whatever time the inspection officer deems appropriate. A representative of the installer must be present for the entirety of the inspection.
- Provide to inspection officer whatever documentation is requested that is appropriate to the installation process
- Take appropriate actions as they deem necessary based on the advice of the inspection officer
- Submit to an annual detailed audit of the installation practices and processes by an inspection officer of the formwork supplier. A representative of the installer must be present for the entirety of the audit.
